Step1: Choosing the right shoes

Well, you should buy fine white fabric shoes. Make sure they’re are made of fabric not leather. You also can use your old shoes if they are clean.You have to take a careful consideration when buying your shoes, the most important factor is the fabric and color. Do not buy leather shoes, or shoes with a lot of texture. If you buy white or light colored shoes you can use fabric markers and sharpies to color your art, giving it a smooth natural look. Darker color shoes are going to need acrylic paint so that the images can be visible.

Step2: Sketching and coming up with a design

The first thing to do is to have several ideas and draw them on paper. Sketching and coming up with a design is the most important part.

Step3: Preparing ingredient

Here's what you need:

white fabric shoes
acrylic colors
acrylic paint brushes in different shapes and sizes
fabric sealant
palette
clean rag
stationeries (pencil, eraser, etc.)

Once you have gathered all your supplies, you can start making your shoes! So, get materials ready and remove laces from shoes and prepare yourself for having fun!

Step 4: drawing outlines

Draw the chosen design onto the shoes. Use pencil to do this or order to change it if you didn’t like the design. If you’re using a pen, test a small area first, to make sure the pen doesn’t run.

Step5: Painting

Pour the fabric paint(s) into suitable containers or a palette. Try to choose colors that match well together Apply solid colors to the shoes. Allow each shoe to dry thoroughly before moving on to the next step .repeat step5 for different colors. If you’re using tapes as a mask you should make sure to allow paint to dry thoroughly before you apply painters tape over it.

Step6: the details

Take notice that there are always some small parts around where your shoes were masked that need to be painted. Use the fine acrylic brush and be very patient while painting edges as you do not want to paint places where it’s not supposed to be. If you happen to get paint where you don’t want, quickly use a clean rag and clean it with water or nail polish remover

Step7: Adding a sealant.

To ensure that the design stays intact and is durable, choose a suitable fabric sealant. You can spray them with clear acrylic spray or silicone spray to give it some shine and to waterproof them. Several thin coats are recommended.
